St. Theresa’s
8/14/99
I knew your mom when we attended St. Theresa's
School. We were classmates from the fifth to the eight grade.
There were two classes and your mom was the class scholar.
I remember her as being studious, plain, funny, friendly and
never ostentatious. She was well liked and respected by all.
The nuns had a special liking for her and she was always helpful
to them. I remember that your mom always had a smile on her
face and a laugh coming from her heart.
After elementary school I lost track of
her, although we were not that far apart, her at Sacred Hearts
and me briefly at St. Louis. (I transferred to Farrington
after my second year which explains our losing tract of each
other. You know the St. Louis/Sacred Heart click.)
It wasn't till many years later when your
mom and a few others decided that we should have a grade school
reunion that we got together again. We had a second reunion
a few years later and subsequent parties in-between. Ah, the
fond memories that came sweeping back. I spoke to your mom
often on the phone after those meetings. What a joy she was.
