Sacred Hearts Academy
September 17, 1999
I met Anna when we were Freshmen at Sacred
Hearts Academy. At that time we were not good friends, I just
knew that she was a fellow student. She left the Academy after
our Sophomore year and returned for our Senior year at the
Academy. At that time we knew each other a little better,
since she sat right in front of me (At Sacred Hearts Academy,
we did not change classes, the teachers moved from class to
class). I remember her as a person with a great sense of humor
and made me laugh many times. The one thing that I will always
remember is that she cut her eyelashes because she thought
they would grow back thicker.
We saw each other during the years following
our graduation, but really did not get to know each other
until we were planning our 25th reunion. She took charge of
all the arrangements, got the best deals(with her connections)
and organized everything for us. She had a way of making us
feel that we should and wanted to attend these functions.
We knew she was a busy person, but she always had time to
organize things for us. We had so many pre-reunion gatherings,
and enjoyed every one. She was not only generous with her
time, but also with her money. She gave us so much and we
miss her energy when we need to plan other reunions. One of
the things about her that we all remember is her black organizer,
which was like a bible to her(full of important numbers and
information). She was so very informed and had much compassion
for all of us. I understand that she tried to meet our classmates
on the mainland whenever she traveled; and they appreciated
that. I know that I miss her very much. I miss that organized
person that was so generous, fun to be with and at the same
time, willing to listen to all my problems. I know each of
you have a bit of Anna in you. God bless all of you.
